2009 12U and 14U Girls 3 v 3 Spring League

NOTE:  ALL games will be played at POLAR Arena

3/16/2009 Update:

Parents and Team Sponsors:

Teams have been set and schedules finalized. We ended up with 6 teams at each level instead of our goal of 8. As such, some ice times will have the girls playing a double header in playing back to back games. All players will still play 12 games but you will have less trips to the rink with the season ending 4/25/2009. We have 6 goalies at each level who will rotate full 1 hour games. I will contact the goalie parents shortly sharing contact information in case they have a conflict and need to switch games.

Attached below you will find the Team Rosters and Schedules.

12U Game Schedule -updated with new goalie rotation

14U Game Schedule -updated with new goalie rotation

12U and 14U Team Rosters and Sponsors - updated with latest adds

A few things to note:

- We will have locker rooms clearly marked with Team Names/Numbers

- Opposing teams will share the same locker room

- Be sure you daughter has a Dark (black best) and Light (white best) jersey in her bag. At times, they may need to switch colors when playing a double header.

- Team Sponsors, I will contact you via email shortly to coordinate On Ice refereeing.

In effort to provide girls with a fun pond hockey type environment with minimum coaching and maximum touches on the puck during  half ice 30 minute games we are creating the NSP Girls 3 v 3 Spring League.

Games will be played on a half sheet of ice with teams typically consisting of 5 players. These players can change up at anytime during the game. The goalie will be shared with all defensive players having to tag up over the blue line when they gain possession of the puck or the goalie freezes it.

To minimize costs, jerseys won't be supplied. Players should bring one dark and one light/white colored jersey to each game. Coaches / Adult team sponsors will officiate the games on the ice which pretty much consists of standing by the center red line to make sure the very basic rules are followed and blowing the whistle if they are not. The coach / adult team sponsors should minimize coaching and remain team neutral. If a coach / adult team sponsor is not available, NSP will supply an official. This needs be arranged prior to the ice time.

The League starts approximately March 22nd  and will end approximately May 10th.  Dates will vary by team.

Goalies: We are planning on carrying a maximum of 4 goalies at each level and have them play a  full 1 hour (2 games) at a time. This will be on a first to register basis. If two goalies wish to split (6 hours, 12 games) we will accomdate.

If you have questions, please send to: nsp3v3@gmail.com or contact Jim Krings at 651-283-5068.

Questions and Answers:

Q: If submitting a team, do I have to have a goalie?

A: No. There will be a maximum of 4 goalies that should sign up individually and will be scheduled for 1 hour/2 game slots. Goalies can share contact information to use if they have conflicts and need to swap times.

Q: Do we have to submit an entire team together?

A: No. Coaches/sponsors should have parent sign their daughters up individually then the coach/sponsor should email the roster and team name to nsp3v3@gmail.com along with their contact information.

Q: Should players register for the level they will play next year?

A: Yes

Q: Can I sign my daughter up if she doesn't have a team or coach/sponsor?

A: Yes. We will work to find a team that is short of 5 players

Q: Can I have a team with less or more players than the recommended 5 player roster?

A: Yes, as long as the $375 team fee is covered, all is good.

Q: If a team is short players, can players from another team sub in for them?

A: Yes, as long as they are registered girls and not playing down (14U can't play 12U) they can play on other teams.
